Pegasus Class Assault Transport
The Pegasus Class Assault Transport is a fast space and atmospheric Imperial transport, that is used by the Imperial Navy and the Collegia Titanica.[1b]
Description
Its transport capacity is large enough to allow the Pegasus to carry an Emperor Titan, along with numerous Knights and other Adeptus Mechanicus forces at once as well. While the Pegasus is lightly armoured, it is equipped with a point-defense turret system, that is designed to ward off fighter craft. This consists of twelve turret batteries, whose fire arcs completely cover the transport's immense frame.[1b] Each turret is also powerful enough to vaporize an Asuryani Nightwing with a single shot, but despite this, the Pegasus is seldom used to take part in space battles. Also after the transport lands, its size protects the Pegasus from conventional weapons used by land-based forces. Its turret batteries can be destroyed through such means though and the Pegasus is susceptible to damage caused by Demolition Charges. Should these weapons cause it enough damage, the transport will erupt in a spectacular explosion. Besides its nominal use, the Pegasus is also sometimes deployed as a Hospital Ship or used as a garrison transport in backwater Imperial worlds.[1a]
