The Penitent Sons are an Alpha Legion Warband.[1]
History
They claim to be still loyal to the Imperium and wear barbs inside their helms as penance for the crimes the Alpha Legion has committed against it. However this does not stop the Penitent Sons from attacking the Imperium or in supporting others who do so, though the Warband is left remorseful for their actions afterwards. They are active in Ultima Segmentum and have suffered losses due to the Indomitus Crusade. This includes their previous Chaos Lord Arkay and the Penitent Sons are now led by Vyrun Evale.[1]
In M42, they were one of the warbands that joined Solomon Akurra's Ghost Legion coalition of Alpha Legion warbands.[1]
