Poseidon-class battleship
The Poseidon-class battleship is an enormous combat class of Imperial aquatic vessel.[1a]
Overview
Laid out similarly to a conventional naval ship of old Terra, most differences are in terms of scale. Its primary armament, a single starship-grade cannon, is mounted in a turret at the bow, connected to the deck via rivets the size of a man. Secondary turrets line the ship's battlements alongside firing positions for marines. A landing strip over a thousand meters long and five hundred meters wide sits amidships, sliced into grids by fueling stations, machinery, pipes, and cables, each landing pad capable of servicing an orbital drop-ship and assisted by the industrial crane rising from the starboard landing deck. A sprawl of metal blocks and conning towers rise towards the stern, forming the ship's fortress keep, at the peak of which is the ship's bridge.[1b]
A variety of smaller seacraft are carried, including Triton-pattern gunboats and landing craft, the latter of which can be filled and dropped into the water from mounts hanging off the deck.[1b][1c]
