The Solar Graveyard

The Processional of the Damned is chain of wreckage, warp-crushed Space Hulks, and dead vessels of a hundred different Xenos origins. It orbits a turbulent star along with a few barren worlds in an unnamed system in the Accursed Demesne region of the Koronus Expanse.[1] Accessible only by an Eldar Webway Portal.[2]

Inhabitants

  • Wrath's Carrion: Descendants of the crew of Wrath Umboldt, left behind when their master fled back into the void.
  • Hollow Men: An unknown race, cloaked in heavy Void Suits, that scavenge the procession with some unknown purpose.
  • The Processional: "Things" of the turbulent star created through some interaction with the warp. Bring about visions of madness or raise the dead ships and crew of the Processional.

The Solar Graveyard

There are multiple layers to the debris field (from outside to the center):

  • The Damned Gateway: An Eldar Webway Portal. It is not known whether or not the Eldar still make use of this portal, though it continues to function, fueled by energies beyond the Imperium’s understanding.[2]
  • The Fragmented Cloud: The outer edges of the Procession a region of smaller, broken vessels and twisted remains.[2]
  • Blight—The First World: Blight is a honeycomb of ship-sized tunnels and crevasses, some clogged with the remains of vessels drawn in by its weak gravity.[2]
  • Outer Sea of Space Hulks: A region of space thick with the ruined remains of vessels of every manufacture, race or function drawn from across the Expanse and even out of the greedy clutches of the warp.[2]
  • Decay—The Second World: Deep within the Sea of Space Hulks, it is more a moon than true world.[2]
  • Inner Sea of Space Hulks: More decayed and desiccated Space Hulks from the effects of The Turbulent Star.[2]
  • Oblivion—The Third World: Visible from the edges of the system only with powerful sensors and auspexes, [2]practically nothing is known about Oblivion except that it is larger than both Blight and Decay and apparently has a dark, murky atmosphere.[2]
  • The Carrion Deeps: The Processional thins out to almost nothing, giving way to scattered space hulks and blasted broken fragments.[2]
  • The Turbulent Star: Known also as the Reaper’s Eye, the Black Heart or the Hole in the Void.[2]
