Pyris Nebula
The Pyris Nebula is a region of Segmentum Obscurus used as a key base by the Black Legion.[1]
Overview
Located just inside the mouth of the Eye of Terror, the nebula consists of swathes of stellar dust clouds which conceal 12 Daemon Worlds. This made it a key staging ground for the Black Legion's fleets, and it was a used as a launch point for Abaddon's Black Crusades for millennia.[1]
There were originally 13 Daemon Worlds within the nebula, but the one ruled by the Death Guard Chaos Lord Xulgith Grawl was destroyed during the Legion Wars. Its remains have since been remade by the Black Legion into a colossal shipyard and refueling station. Dubbed Basitar, it is watched over by Black Legion champions and has become the primary destination for those who wish to pledge themselves to the Despoiler. The way to Basitar is treacherous and haunted by Daemons and dying celestial bodies. But those who make it there unscathed are met with further tests of strength and loyalty.[1]
