Raven Interceptor
The Raven Interceptor was a fighter aircraft used by the Imperialis Armada[1] and the Space Marine Legions[2a] during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.[1][2a]
Description
Described as both raptor-like[2d] and sleek,[2a] the Raven Interceptor is armed with beam weaponry. Its armoured hull consists of ceramite and plastic. The Raven Interceptor is powered by a fusion core, which, upon destruction of the fighter, leaves behind radioactive debris. The detonation of a single Raven is powerful to destroy multiple Interceptors with its shockwave.[2d]
History
During the Battle of Istvaan III, Raven Interceptors were used to destroy the orbital structures of the Istvaanian rebels in the opening phase of the battle.[2b] Later, a number of Interceptors were tasked to shoot down the Thunderhawk of Saul Tarvitz,[2c] but were themselves annihilated by the guns of the Eisenstein.[2d]
