Retributio Tempestatis
The Retributio Tempestatis is an Imperial Navy Battleship, that is commanded by Admiral Samwell Wyan.[1b]
History
She is part of an Imperial Navy fleet that is active within the Imperium Nihilus. However, this fleet was later attacked by the Ork armada of the Warboss Zask' Lagga, who then became obsessed with capturing the Retributio Tempestatis. The Xenos were able to heavily damage the Battleship as they attempted to do so and this forced Admiral Wyan to enact an emergency warp jump into a nearby Sector. The Tempestatis survived the journey and found itself close to an Indomitus Crusade Fleet,[1b] which was protecting the sector's worlds from the Prophet's Black Legion warband.[1a]
After Wyan told the fleet's Space Marine Commander about what had occurred, she feared the Warboss would soon follow the Retributio Tempestatis into the sector. The Admiral implored the Commander to help her repair the heavily damaged Battleship before that occurred and he agreed to do so. But the repair process caught the Orks' attention and Lagga's armada attacked the fleet before the Tempestatis was fully operational. Nevertheless, as the Commander and the Warboss' warships clashed, Wyan led her battleship against Lagga's flagship, Da Blue Crusha. She was then able to damage the Crusha so severely, that Lagga ordered his armada to retreat before his flagship could be destroyed. However, the Warboss warned that he would return to claim the Retributio Tempestatis.[1b]
The Indomitus Crusade Fleet then resumed repairing the Battleship, but Lagga once again returned before the Retributio Tempestatis' repairs were completed. This time however, the Warboss's armada was able to board the Battleship and began jettisoning its crew into space. When it became clear the Tempestatis was going to be captured by Lagga's Orks, Wyan prepared to sacrifice the Tempestatis, by overloading its Warp drives. But before that could happen, the Admiral's Imperial Navy fleet suddenly emerged from the Warp and began attacking the Warboss' armada. Now caught between the Indomitus and Navy fleets, the Orks were outmatched and Lagga ordered his armada to retreat into the Warp.[1b]
The Warboss once more threatened to return and claim the Retributio Tempestatis, but Wyan would not allow Lagga to escape again. She then ordered her Battleship to ram Da Blue Crusha, just as it prepared to enter the Warp. The attack successfully landed, and the Warboss' flagship was then destroyed by the Imperial Navy fleet. After the battle was over, Wyan's Imperial Navy Commander praised the Admiral for her efforts, but stated they still had to perform their duties to the Imperium. He then ordered Wyan to rejoin the Navy fleet, once the Tempestatis was made ready. The Admiral confirmed she would do so and her Imperial Navy fleet then entered the Warp. She then thanked the Space Marine Commander for his aid, before the Tempestatis left to rejoin the Navy fleet.[1b]
