Rhodior System
The Rhodior System is a star system of the Charadon Sector in Ultima Segmentum.[1b][2]
History
Located in the Obolis Sub-Sector[1b], the Rhodior System is part of Metalica's outermost 'ring of steel' and one of the three systems that makes up the Metalican Gates alongside Brezantius and Feiror.[1a][2] As a result, it is heavily fortified and its worlds and star forts were armed with ancient weapons of Metalican manufacture. These had enormous transatmospheric ranges that meant they could strike at the very edge of the systems.[2]
During the Charadon Campaign the System was never invaded by Typhus' armies and was relatively unscathed. Fabricator-General Khleng ordered reinforcements from nearby systems to fortify the Metalican Gates, abandoning these worlds in an event dubbed the Khleng Betrayal. Refugees and lost military forces also arrived, creating a refugee crisis that saw the Mechanicum push the exhausted survivors with punishing work that resulted in a high number of fatalities. Corruption ran rife and commanders of rear echelon forces pilfered the best equipment for their own units and deployed themselves to the safest locations. Brutal battles were fought when these commanders sought to protect themselves from retribution, yet many more of these crooks went undiscovered. Espionage between these factions was common, but to make matters worse the taint of Chaos soon spread throughout the system, creating uprisings that took many months to be quashed.[2]
