Saltire Vex is a world of the Imperium located in the Chalnath Expanse.[1a]
The world was an important oceanic mining facility for the Imperium, but was invaded by the Tau Empire sometime in early M42. During the battle, the Tau discovered that a strange psychic affliction began erupting amongst the Human population[1b], in truth a result of the machinations of the Fallen Angel Gohorael.[1c] This led Commander Surestrike to try and purge the human population in conjunction with the Dark Angels, who came to an agreement to exterminate the humans in exchange for the Xenos assistance to contain Gohorael's invasion of Allhallow.[1d] However human refugees, aiding by the Dark Angels Primaris Space Marine squad of Xedro Farren, were able to escape via a Kroot Warsphere.[1e]
