Sisters of the Silvered Sphinx
The Sisters of the Silvered Sphinx is a female Crusader House.[1b]
History
Four of its Sisters were charged with protecting the Ministorum Priest Vanhire, as he aided the Imperium[1b] in defending Montar VII, from an Ork invasion.[1a] There, he was attached to the 24th Ventrillian Nobles, who were led by Company Commander Stromfjord, as they battled the Xenos.[1b] However disaster struck, when an attack[1a] by the Goffs Warboss Skogrin[1b] separated the 24th from the main body of the Imperium's forces. Skogrin then led his horde in pursuit of the Regiment and the 24th fled and sought refuge at the Grox farm of the Imperial citizen Ortan Glazer. They then only had a short time to ready the farm,[1a] before Skogrin's horde began attacking it in waves. Vanhire and the four Sisters of the Silvered Sphinx Crusaders, greatly aided in defending the farm and pushed back any Orks that breached its walls. However this cost them dearly, as two of the Sisters were slain by a Deff Dread in the Xenos' second attack, before they stopped its rampage.[1c] During the Ork's fourth attack on the farm, though, the Xenos largely destroyed its defenses and began pouring in.[1d] Seeing this, Vanhire led his two remaining Silvered Sphinx Crusaders into a charge against the Orks and with the help of the 24th, they wiped out the invaders. Though another of the Sisters was slain in the attempt, the losses Skogrin suffered in his fourth attack, finally caused the Warboss to retreat from the farm.[1e]
