The nobles of the Trail moved, leaving the lower classes to continue their toil in the Emperor's name. As the centuries passed the trail fell into decay. Most notably the trail is the site of the attempted remanifestation of the demon [[Ghargatuloth]] also known as The Prince of a Thousand Faces. This remanifestation plunged the trail into anarchy, in order to confuse Imperial forces attempting to defeat the demon, most notable being a strike force of [[Grey Knights]] led by [[Justicar]] [[Alaric]].<sup>1</sup>
