Hydra Cordatus was a [[Forge World]] close to the Eye of Terror. It supplied weapons and vehicles to the Imperium, and it was also one of the only places that [[Space Marine]] gene seed could be stored. During the [[13th Black Crusade]] it was invaded by the [[Iron Warriors]] [[Chaos Space Marine]] legion, led by Warsmith [[Honsou]], a charismatic warlord from Medrengard. The Iron Warriors sought who wanted to capture the gene seed, which happened to be that of the [[Imperial Fists]], the Iron Warriors arch-enemies, for themselves in order to produce more Iron Warriors. After a long war of attrition and a siege, the [[Iron Warriors]] conquered managed to capture the planet and took the gene-seed. ² To Honsou's delight (and that of [[Chaos]]), this served the double purpose of strengthening his forces and weakening the Imperial Fists. ³
