The '''Golden Halos''' banner has flown above many a battlefield. Most notably it witnessed the [[Chapter]]'s victories at [[Kistvaen]], [[Podzul]] and the decade-long [[Siege of Nectocalyx]], which was more commonly known as "The Meatgrinder."
Nearly 17% of the Golden Halos battle-brothers were lost when the ghost ship [[Celestion]] collided with the ''Garandus'', a battlecruiser which the Golden Halos were aboard, and obliterated many of the chapter's dropships, taking almost 2400 battle-brothers with them. Rescue and recovery efforts were severely hampered by a freak [[warp vortex]].
Their motto ''Ex Ungue Leonem'' ("Judge the lion by his claws") reveals their proud martial tradition.
