The Dark Lance is a long-range heavy weapon. It is extremely effective against heavily armed
vehicles, as their thick armour provides absolutely no protection against the energy beam.
In the game, the threat caused by this weapon is emphasized by a the [[Lance Weapon]]s special rule ,that reducesthe effective Armor values of heavily armed vehicles. Although the general version of this weapon can be carried by [[Dark Eldar Warrior]]s and other troops,it is common practice to fit Dark Lances on Dark Eldar vehicles. [[Raider]]s are usually armed witha single Dark Lance, but [[Ravager]]s were modified to carry three heavy weapons, either of which canbe a Dark Lance or a [[Disintegrator]].
