Like its closer compatriot, the [[Lascannon]], it uses huge, box-like power cells which cannot be recharged and must simply be thrown away after use.

They are mounted primarily on [[Chimera]]s and [[Sentinel]]s. They are especially effective against horde armies with poor armour, such as [[Orks]] and other Imperial rebellious Guard forces and against low-armoured vehicles.

While the standard Lascannon is a semi-automatic weapon (one squeeze of the trigger fires one shot), the Multi-laser is fully automatic - it fires multiple laser beams as long as the trigger is held down. The Multi-laser can be considered to be a bigger variant of the [[Hellgun]].
