By the time Ahriman had consolidated his power and had taken full control of [[Amon|Amon's]] warband, the [[Brotherhood of Dust]] (now called the [[Prodigal Sons]]), he planned to seek where the [[Athenaeum of Kallimakus]] was and take it's secrets for himself. In order to locate where the [[Athenaeum of Kallimakus]] was he needed to seek out the [[Inquisitor]] called [[Iobel]] and pry secrets about the [[Athenaeum of Kallimakus]] from her mind.
In order to aid the success of this plan he sends Astraeos to be captured by the [[Inquisition]] and is tortured for secrets about Ahriman and his plans. Unknowingly to the Inquisition, Astraeos being there served as a boon to Ahriman's cause. This was because Astraeos's mind served as a beacon making it easier for [[Ahriman]] and his followers to [[psychic|psychiclypsychically]] teleport into the Inquisition's base of operations and take [[Iobel]] for themselves.
After [[Ahriman]] enacted this plan and successfully took [[Iobel]] away, Astraeos had been left behind and sufferered an injury that resulted in the loss of his face and his ability to see through natural means. Astraeos was re-captured and was tortured by the Inquistion for additional secrets.
