Like his fellow 'volunteers' in the [[13th Penal Legion]] the name and background of the man now known as 'Grease Monkey' are all classified. Originally a member of the [[Imperial Guard]], Grease Monkey was a highly skilled driver and mechanic, much to the chagrin of his unit's [[Tech Priest]]s. While his tinkering may have eventually put him in the same position he finds himself now, it was his decision to take a grav-vehicle belonging to the ambassador of the [[Iyanden]] Craftworld that landed him on the [[penal colony]] [[Devlan 5]].{{Fn|1}}
