The '''Legio Gladius''' was a [[Titan Legion]] based on [[Diamat]] that fought for the [[Imperium]] during the [[Great Crusade]]. When the [[Horus Heresy]] broke out the Legion was attached to the [[Expedition Fleet|27th Expedition Fleet]] far to the galactic south on the orders of [[Warmaster]] [[Horus]]. This left their homeworld open to [[Battle of Diamat|attack]] by Horus' forces.{{Fn|1}}
