Instead, he had asked to remain a simple [[Space Marine Sergeant|Sergeant]] and be transferred to the 10th [[Space Marine Company|10th Company]], so he could pass on his skills to new generations of White Scars [[scouts]]. {{Fn|1}} During the liberation of the planet [[Tephra VII]], Balat led squads of scouts as they assisted in the White Scars assault on the [[Ignis Mons]] complex.{{Fn|1}}
