==Overview==
The [[Space Wolves]] of the [[Red Moons]] and [[Bloodmaws]] were en route to [[Siege of Gottgaard|Gottgaard]] when they paused for resupply on the world of [[Brakhutos]] in the [[Gloomtide Cluster]]. They found the planet engulfed in war, with [[Orks]] rampaging across its surface. [[Wolf Lord]]s [[Bran Redmaw]] and [[Gunnar Red Moon]] agreed that they could not abandon the planet to its fate.{{Fn|1}}
The Space Wolves saw that the planet's primary city was in terrible danger from [[Snakebite]] Orks who had captured one of its foremost hydrofactorums and cut off the vital supply of water. The Wolves deployed to the surface in swift attack craft. Prowling through the dark hydrofactorum, the Wolves were beset by the Greenskins. Using their natural instincts and sniffer [[Squig]]s, the Orks were easily able to detect the Space Wolves. A vicious battle erupted, slaying every Greenskin they found as they restored the water supply. [[Aggressor]] packs purged three tunnel sections with their [[Flamestorm Gauntlet]]s, searing them clear of Greenskins. Bloodmaw [[Incursor]]s followed in their wake, accumulating data to determine the next target. Though hampered by floodwaters and collapsing gangways, the Wolves continued to fight on and encountered more traps such as clay pots with angry Squigs inside. At the same time, [[Runtherd]]s goaded mobs of [[Grot]]s towards the Wolves, though the Space Marines noticed many of the Orks had been unusually large in size. Yet it was only when the two [[Wolf Lord]]s and their packs reached the command center that they learned the cause. Repurposed by Ork [[Painboyz]] and Runtherds, the Orks were using fungal extracts and chemical brews to enhance their warriors with strange concoctions. Nonetheless the Wolves struck at the command center, battling the hulking Greenskin monstrosities. The Space Wolves eventually managed to slay the Painboyz and Runtherds and end the twisted enhancements. It took the [[Iron Priest]]s and their subordinates several days to restore any kind of function to the hydrofactorum and weeks more to cleanse it of Ork taint.{{Fn|1}}
