::As to your question: Yes, orphaned files get routinely deleted. But even if they were not they could easily get lost amongst the many, many files existing in the Lex. So the general policy is: If it is not used, it gets deleted. That is by the way also the reason why one always has to "store" images on some page or other if one plans to use them later.
