At one point in mid [[M41]], the Imperial intelligence agent known as [[Fereyd]] discovered that a [[Chaos Cult]] had formed on Pashen and was planning on staging an insurrection. However, when he reported this to Imperial authorities, the response force sent to destroy the cult ran into problems - most notably a difficult space battle involving the [[Imperial Navy]] fighting against [[heretic]] naval officers. This meant that the [[Astra Militarum]] had to be deployed in a protracted action against the Cult on the planet's surface.{{Fn|1b}}
Amongst the Militarum units deployed were the [[Hyrkan Regiments]]. [[Commissar]] [[Ibram Gaunt]] met ended up saving Fereyd 's life and the two worked together to defeat the traitorous Baron [[Sylag]].{{Fn|1b}} The two remained in contact afterwards, striking up a lasting friendship.{{Fn|1a}}{{Fn|1b}}
