The [[Primarchs]] [[Dorn]], [[El'Jonson]] and [[Fulgrim]] would take part in the Crusade and commanded each of their [[Space Marine Legion|Legions]] in the conflict{{Fn|1b}}. The first battle would taken place on [[Scathia]], whose leadership refused to join the [[Imperium]]. Due to the world's position, Scathia was ideally suited to become a gateway world for the Imperium to funnel troops and resources into the Crusade as it ventured into the [[Occluda Noctis]]{{Fn|1c}}. To ensure the Night Crusade could proceed, the Primarchs invaded Scathia{{Fn|1b}} and brought the world into [[Compliance]] shortly afterwards. With Scathia now in their hands, the Crusade fully began and later ended in a victory for the Imperium. Dorn's efforts during the Night Crusade would later be a key reason, why the [[Emperor]] chose the Primarch to defend [[Terra]], after He retired from Great Crusade and left [[Horus]] in command of the Crusade.{{Fn|1a}}
