The Champions of Fenris ,1 formerly the 1st Great Company "The Breakers of Rings",9a is one of the twelve active Great Companies of the Space Wolves, falling under the direct control of Great Wolf Logan Grimnar himself.1 It is the largest of the Great Companies.8 When Primarch Leman Russ personally led the Space Wolves, the 1st Great Company formed his veteran guard.9b
Overview
The When it was still known as the "1st Great Company", the unit was formed by selected veterans who followed their Primarch into battle. Most of the great company were Varagyr Terminators, later known as "Wolf Guards".9b In the present day, the Champions of Fenris are fanatically loyal to their leader Logan Grimnar. Each warrior is extremely proud of his link to the supreme lord of the Chapter, and constantly vies with his peers for their masters favour. Logan Grimnar firmly believes that a battle can be carried by a few heroes in the right place at the right time, and as such makes effective use of the many Wolf Guard1 and Venerable Dreadnoughts8 in his Great Company. It also maintains a large complement of Wolf Priests, Rune Priests, and Iron Priests that are loaned to other Great Companies when needed.8
