During the [[Arks of Omen Campaign]], the [[Daemon|Demi-Chaos God]] sought to capture a [[Key-Fragment]] from the [[Dark Angels]]' [[Fortress Monastery]] and used the Unmaker to bombard the [[The Rock|Rock]]'s [[Gorgon's Aegis]] force field until it collapsed. Afterwards, [[Vashtorr]] ordered his [[Cult of the Arkifane|forces]], along with his [[Black Legion]] and [[Word Bearers]] allies, to invade the Fortress Monastery.{{Fn|1}} The Ark survived the battle and retreated with Vashtorr aboard after the intervention of [[Be'lakor]].{{Fn|2}}
Later during the [[Battle of Idolatros]], Vashtorr utilized the ''Orac Unleashed'' and its AI against [[The Rock]]. However after assembling the last components of the [[Dissonance Engine]], the Ark of Omen was abandoned by Vashtorr as the Orac Myriad howled in betrayal and despair. The Ark was subsequently destroyed by the Imperial fleet.{{Fn|3}}
