The [[Catachan MXIV|Catachan MXIV ‘Unseen Lurkers’]] [[Imperial Guard Regiment|Regiment]], led by [[Colonel ]] [['Steel Eye' Black]], battled [[Orks]] of the [[Deathskull]]s clan on the [[shadow world]] of [[Kato]]. Dire visibility and exceptionally rough terrain reduced the war to a never-ending string of bloody skirmishes that tested the skills of the Catachan infantry to their limits. Neither side was able to gain an advantage until [[Sentinel]] teams locate and destroy the Orks’ [[Stompa]] factory, hidden in the depths of the Widow Valley.{{Fn|1}}

Dire visibility and exceptionally rough terrain reduced the war to a never-ending string of bloody skirmishes that tested the skills of the Catachan infantry to their limits.{{Fn|1}} The situation for the Imperials wasn't helped by the Orks managing to [[Looted Wagon|loot]] a [[Deathstrike Missile Launcher]], which necessitated the deployment of a squadron of Catachans led by [[Sergeant (Imperial Guard)|Sergeant]] [[Stryker]] to neutralise it.{{Fn|2}} Neither side was able to gain an advantage until [[Sentinel]] teams locate and destroy the Orks’ [[Stompa]] factory, hidden in the depths of the [[Widow Valley]]. The Deathskulls responded by launching an all-out final offensive that threatened to overwhelm Imperial forces with its sheer ferocity. However, the Orks’ attack was caught in the jaws of a series of Catachan ambushes, the coolly strategic Colonel Black dissecting and destroying the remaining Ork forces over three days of bloodshed.{{Fn|1}}
