It was among the [[Imperial]] forces that unsuccessfully defended [[Lazulai]] from a [[Tyranid]] invasion. As the world began to fall to the [[Xenos]], the Cadian 2012th were among the [[Regiment]]s defending the '''Cobalt Fortress''', which was under [[General]] [[Kvelter]]'s command. It was one of the last remaining ones on the dying world, but no reinrocemnts would be sent, as Lazulai was considered to be lost. However when an overwhelming [[Tyranid]] force was headed in the Fortress' direction, General Kvelter ordered [[Major]] [[Wulf Khan]] of the [[Catachan CMIII]] to undergo a final mission.{{Fn|1}}
This required [[Wulf Khan|Khan]] to lead a squadron of the [[Catachan CMIII|CMIII]] outside of the '''Cobalt Fortress''', in order to recover an asset for the [[Imperium]].
