At one time, Nyx was one of the supply worlds for the nearby [[Forge World]] of [[Hypnoth]]. When Hypnoth was [[Siege of Hypnoth|besieged]] by the [[Necron]]s of the [[Sautekh Dynasty]], its [[Imperial]] defenders managed to hold against the [[xenos]] for months. However, [[Phaeron]] [[Imotekh]] was able to break this stalemate by launching attacks on Hypnoth's supply worlds, including both Nyx and [[Praedis-Zeta]].{{Fn|2}}
The Necron raids on Nyx were complicated by an unexpected [[Tyranid]] infestation. Imotekh swiftly adapted to this, luring the Tyranids into confrontations with Nyx's Imperial defenders while allowing his own forces to withdraw.{{Fn|2}}
