Death's Shadow serves as the [[Synapse#Synapse Creatures|synapse creature]] leader for the [[Insidious Infiltrators]] group of Vanguard Organisms dedicated to causing terror and confusion behind enemy lines and escaping unseen. To that end this bioform's ability to project a Neural Disruption field which instills a primal fear in creatures around it{{Fn|1b}} is combined with its skill at camouflage and assasination. This makes for a particularly terrifying combination, especially while working in concert with the other deadly creatures it commands. While the [Von Ryan's Leapers|Leapers]] and [[Lictor]] distract the defenders, Death's Shadow lies in wait to slip through the fortifications defenses and eliminate execute its intended target completely undetectedmission.{{Fn|1a}}
