==Description==
The hand-held Cataclysmus Device is similar to capital-grade nuclear devices, only extremely miniaturised, making it man-portable. It is designed to be used in close-range firefights, where it is deployed by being thrown, being too easily detonated to be fired using from a [[grenade launcher]]. Targets caught in the blast radius, which aren't instantly annihilated, suffer from radiation sickness and must seek out anti-radiation treatments to survive.{{Fn|1}}
The Cataclysmus Device was developed by a Mechanicus sub-sect which had been exiled from [[Hadd]] for being "''insufficiently respectful of the past''", because the technology behind the Cataclysmus Device, heavy material micro-fission, was long seen as too wasteful and inefficient by the mainstream of the Mechanicus. According to unconfirmed reports, the sub-sect is rumoured to have settled on [[Lacuna]], where they continue their experiments.{{Fn|1}}
