During the rule of [[Calligos Winterscale]] in [[M42]], the planetary government [[Planetary Governor|Planetary Government]] on Rykad Minoris was overthrown by an uprising led by a [[Chaos Cult]], which was instigated by agents of the [[Word Bearers]] [[Traitor Legion]]. Right as the rebellion reached its peak, the star of the Rykad System was taken by the [[Drukhari]], causing the system to collapse as its planets, no longer held in orbit, drifted into deep space, slowly freezing along with their inhabitants.{{Fn|1b}}
Around a century later, a fragment of Rykad Minoris entered the [[Furibundus System]], where it was captured by void miners. A portion of the fragment was brought to [[Footfall]] and used in the restoration of the God-Emperor's statue, serving as a memorial to the world that was destroyed by corruption.{{CME}}
