Yonnad would go on to have an distinguished career during the Great Crusade and took many Captains under his wing in order to teach them the art of space combat.{{Fn|1b}} During the Crusade's [[War of the Consus Drift]], his [[Primarch]] gave Yonnad command of the Imperial Fists' forces as they invaded the [[Driftborn]]'s asteroid cities. Even as he did so, Yonnad regretted that the Driftborn's foolish refusal to accept the [[Imperium]]'s [[Compliance]] led so many of them to needlessly die. He was relieved when the Driftborn later surrendered, after Dorn had threatened them with extinction if they continued to resist. Though it saddened him to admit it, Yonnad knew he would have destroyed the Driftborn without hesitation, if his Primarch had willed it.{{Fn|3}}
During the [[Araneus Wars]], Yonnad was charged with the mission of prosecuting the war against the [[Araneus Continuity]]. After preparing his forces, Yonnad left [[Tallarn]] with a force of 20,000 Space Marines alongside millions of troops of the [[Imperial Army]] and the [[Mechanicum]] . The entire force struck as one, overwhelming the peripheral territories of the Continuity in a single day. The Imperial Fists were able to rapidly secure the Continuity's Warp Gates, preventing them from reinforcing themselves. Within two months the Continuity was reduced to a single world, [[Araneus Prime]]. With no other choice, the Technonobility surrendered.{{Fn|4}}
When the [[Horus Heresy|Heresy]] began, Yonnad was given command of his Legion's [[Retribution Fleet]], which was sent by [[Rogal Dorn]] to confront [[Horus]] in the [[Isstvan System]]. However, after the Retribution Fleet entered the [[Warp]], it was hit by [[Warp Storm|severe storms]] that wreaked havoc upon it, causing numerous casualties and destroying many of the [[Imperial Fists]]' ships. When the Retribution Fleet finally exited the Warp in the [[Phall System]], it was discovered that Yonnad was among the many Imperial Fists that were killed by the storms. After the remnants of the Retribution Fleet were reformed, command of the remaining ships fell to Captain [[Alexis Polux]], who was Yonnad's current protégé and amongst the greatest of his pupils.{{Fn|2}}
