Chiros is a rich world in the Segmentum Pacificus of continent spanning jungles and forests, with deep lakes and rolling grasslands with a population of several million. It exported many luxury goods an the population survived quite well. It did however manage to stop the expansion of Cardinal Bucharis during the Plague of Unbelief period. Bucharis could not understand why his troops could not conquer the planet. It was lucky that the commander in charge of Bucharis' fleet had the foresight not to bombard it, as it would have been a nice place for the Cardinal to retire to. This meant that the planet was not scarred horribly. Bucharis sent more troops but they were still defeated and eventually the commander of Bucharis' forces was forced to surrender.
It turned out that that entire planet had risen up in anger and hatred to defend their world from Bucharis. They were roused by Confessor Dolan Chirosius. There was no respite from the attacks, the young and old made grenades and threw them into tanks, killing the crews, while the middle aged moved into the mountains and forests to act as snipers, constantly harrassing Bucharis' troops. It was never taken and marked the beginning of the end for Bucharis' empire.
