Chiros is a rich world in the Segmentum Pacificus of continent spanning jungles and forests, with deep lakes and rolling grasslands with a population of several million. It exported many luxury goods an the population survived quite well. It did however manage to stop the expansion of Cardinal Bucharis during the Plague of Unbelief period. Bucharis could not understand why his troops could not conquer the planet. It was lucky that the commander in charge of Bucharis' fleet had the foresight not to bombard it, as it would have been a nice place for the Cardinal to retire to. This meant that the planet was not scarred horribly. Bucharis sent more troops but they were still defeated and eventually the commander of Bucharis' forces was forced to surrender.
==Plague of Unbelief==During the period of the Plague of Unbelief, it was a planet of continent spanning jungles and forests, with deep lakes and rolling grasslands and a population of several million (1). It turned exported many luxury goods and the population liveed quite well (2). When Bucharis' forces were sent to conquer the planet, they initially encountered little resistance (3). Soon though, they came up against an obsticle they could not overcome. Bucharis was not being kept filled in on the situation properly and could not understand why his troops failed to conquer the planet (4). The commander of the assaulting forces had restrained from using orbital bombardment, as he had seen the planet as a nice place for the Cardinal to retire to (5). Bucharis was pleased with his foresight and sent an extra three companies of troops, although this just prolonged the fighting and led to the surrender of Bucharis' forces (6). Bucharis soon found out through his network of spies that that the entire planet had risen up in anger and hatred against the attackers to defend their world from Bucharis(7). They were had probably been roused by Confessor Dolan Chirosius. There was no respite from the attacks, the young and old made grenades and threw them into tanks, killing majority of the crews, while the middle aged population moved into the mountains and forests to act and worked as snipers, constantly harrassing Bucharis' troops(8). It The forces surrendered after a suicide bomber destroyed their command tent (9), and presumably took with it the leadership. Chiros was never taken and marked the beginning of the end for Bucharis' empire.
