*Note 3: Some Companies are not clearly tied to a Chapter by number. For example, the "547th Company" is noted as being on Calth and surviving, but the number of the company doesn't line up with an existing Chapter.{{Fn|4}}
*Note 4: In the 41st Millennium, the [[Black_Consuls]] claim that their first Chapter Master [[Arrias Cordos]] was part of the "72nd Chapter" during the Horus Heresy. No Heresy-era reference to the 72nd Chapter exists, and its possible that they were originally the "72nd Company" before time corrupted the remembering.
