Chairon was born on [[Calth]] and personally witnessed the [[Battle of Calth|Word Bearers attack]] during the [[Horus Heresy]].{{Fn|2b}} The carnage left by the [[Word Bearers]] left him with a fierce hatred of heretics.{{Fn|2c}} Made into a [[Primaris Space Marine]] by [[Belisarius Cawl]], he was put in stasis along with the other Primaris marines until after the resurrection of [[Roboute Guilliman]] 10,000 years later. He then served in the [[Unnumbered Sons]] for a time before being placed into the Ultramarines [[2nd Company (Ultramarines)|2nd Company]].{{fn|2f}}

Chairon's left knee-plate bears the [[Iron Halo]] [[Space Marine Honour Badge]].

*Chairon being a survivor of the [[Battle of Calth]] would make him over 10,000 years old at the time of the events of [[Space Marine II]]. It was later stated by a developer for the game that he indeed was alive at the time of the battle but was subsequently taken by [[Belisarius Cawl]] and put into stasis while being remade into a [[Primaris Space Marine]].{{Fn|3}} This is further clarified in game with the Datavault Research Centre.{{fn|2f}}
