It was written by a rules committee, nicknamed the ''High Admiralty''; a [[Games Workshop]]-sanctioned board of fans and employees who have been charged with playtesting all future development of the game{{fn|3}}, posted on either www.battlefleetgothic.com or www.specialist-games.com (both sites now nonfunctional). Notable members include [[Bob Henderson]], [[Ray Bell]], [[Nate Montez]], [[Roy Amkreutz]] as well as collaboration with [[Andy Hall]] and [[Matt Keefe]] and [[Pete Haines]]. Although the department of GW [[Specialist Games]] no longer actively works on Battlefleet Gothic, the members of the rules committee continue to provide advice and rules interpretation to the BFG gaming community as of 2025.{{Fn|2}}<sup>[[Battlefleet Gothic 2010 Compendium/Sources|[See Additional Sources]]]</sup>
The 2010 Compendium would eventually be followed by [[Battlefleet Gothic Remastered]] in 2020.{{fn|3}}
