*In the 1987's First Edition of Warhammer 40,000: Rougue Trader]], a Shuriken Catapult appeared that was different to their modern appearance. It possessed two polar fins (and sometimes additional fins) positioned laterally near its muzzle, which were the source of the magnetic vortex accelerating the discs. The magazine was from a flat and circular magazine extension, (most commonly stationed in horizontal planesituated horizontally, while noted to but sometimes being positioned vertically. While also noted as sometimes possessing additional fins, the exact description of them wasn't specified nor illustrated).4 This design was later referenced in the 2025 novel Archmagos as a design dating back to the War in Heaven.6
