By the end of the [[Chaos]] insurrection on [[Sepus Prime]], Federak was the [[Voxvox-officer]] of [[Lieutenant (Imperial Guard)|Lieutenant]] [[Sorov]]'s unit. Federak recieved received the co-ordinates of a bombed-out gun emplacement that the insurrectionist [[Governor ]] [[Narbo]]'s shuttle was due to fly over, from loyalist pilot [[Gorny]], who had infiltrated Narbo's inner circle.{{Fn|1}}

While most of the regiment pushed to take the civitate, they moved into position to ambush Narbo's [[Aquila Lander]], in an attempt to fragment the insurrectionist forces. Sorov got Federak to contact [[Sergeant (Imperial Guard)|Sergeant]] [[Kapek]] whose force was under attack at [[Tadmor Ridge]], to get him to hold their position while they waited for the Lander to appear. When it did, it was shot down, but Narbo survived and transformed into a [[Chaos Spawn]], killing everyone except Federak, Sorov, and [[Sanctioned Psyker]] [[Glutt]] who managed to destroy the Spawn.{{Fn|1}}
