==History==
Studying the deeper mysteries of the [[Omnissiah]], he specialized specialised in analyzing analysing [[xenos]] technology particularly when present in [[Human]] [[Archaeotech]]. His studies led him to investigate [[C'tan]]-worshipping Cultists on [[Mars]], and soon enough the Archmagos himself fell to venerating a deity known as the [[Dragon of Mars]] and , believing it and its kin were angels of the [[Machine God]].{{Fn|1a}}
Disguising his true allegiance, Oct traveled to [[Battle of Bastior|War Zone Bastior]] and pledged himself to the [[Ultramarines]] in order to have access to the [[Necron]] technologies they were sure to acquire in the coming [[Ultramarian Reclamation]]. He was determined to find shards of the Dragon or perhaps other Star-Gods and reassemble them.{{Fn|1a}}
During the [[War for Novamagnor]], Oct secretly sabotaged the Imperial war effort and attempted to reawaken the [[Nightbringer]]. When his forge-shrine of Firstbrand fell to the Necrons under [[Nekrosor Ammentar]], Oct offered aid and supplication but was thrown to the [[Destroyer Lord]]'s followers to be ripped apart.{{Fn|1b}}
