These small but heavily armed warships were capable of operating inside a planet's atmosphere, allowing them to land directly on the surface and provide supporting fire for invading armies. When required, at least some examples could be detached from larger Space Marine [[Battle Barge]]s in orbit.{{Fn|1}}{{Fn|2}} The [[Death Guard]] seemed to favor favour these warships and had a number of known examples.{{Fn|1}}{{Fn|2}}
