The '''Unbound Flame''' is one of the [[Nine Artifacts of Vulkan]]. This [[stasis]]-capsule served as the coffin for [[Vulkan]] during his apparent death on [[Macragge]] during the [[Horus Heresy]]. Later, the Unbound Flame was brought by [[Artellus Numeon]] to [[Mount Deathfire]] on [[Nocturne]], where the [[Salamanders]] Captain hoped to resurrect his [[Primarch]]. Before Numeon sacrificed himself in the fires of Mt. Deathfire to restore Vulkan he put his armour and weapons into the casket.{{Fn|1}}
After the formation of the [[Great Rift]], [[Vulkan He'Stan]] believed the Unbound Flame to be on the planet [[Zero]].{{Fn|2}} However , they instead became embroiled in a battle against the [[Alpha Legion]] and no evidence of the artefact was discovered.{{Fn|3}}
