→Description and Variants
The chief passion of Painboyz are surgery and extreme dentistry, the latter is often carried out during the former, as [[Teef]] are a commonly accepted form of payment for their services. Painboyz learn their craft through a mixture of genetic memory, trial and error, and the Ork concept of "Orky know-wotz". Their greatest joy are conducting 'eksperimentz', and in many ways this makes Painboys the biological equivalent of the [[Mekboy]]. And just like Mekboyz, Painboyz are often accompanied by [[Grot]] orderlies who aid them in their surgeries as well as other menial tasks.{{Fn|18}}
Painboyz are responsible for fixing injuries that the Ork physiology can't deal with, such as totally severed limbs and brain damage. Seen as a not quite read right in the head by the rest of their kind, an Ork will only go to a Painboy when he has no other choice, as these Oddboyz are infamous for trying out experimental procedures (such as the greatly feared [[squig]] brain transplant) on patients while they are under anesthesia (known as "concussion" to other races). Painboyz are also responsible for attaching [[bioniks]], although sometimes they aren't paying attention and replace the wrong part of the patient's body. However Orks are surprisingly resilient and have had arms, legs and even heads swapped around and the Ork in question has survived to tell the tale!{{Fn|4}}
Painboyz are still Orks, and during battle will take part in the violent revelry with the rest of his ladz. They will cheerfully take part in combat, wielding [[Power Klaw]]s, [[Dok's Tools|surgical saws]] and other medical instruments to dismember foes. They will also wield a variety of [['Urty Syringe|deadly fungal serum syringes]], some of which can cause the hapless victims blood to congeal with spores. In battle, they are frequently accompanied by the same [[Grot]] orderlies that aid them during their medical procedures.{{Fn|18}}
