Since the formation of the [[Great Rift]], they have become cut off from the wider [[Imperium]].{{Fn|1b}} The last person chosen to lead the Sentinels, a position with the title of Warlord, was [[Ekene Dubaku]] of the [[Celestial Lions]]. Dubaku fulfilled this role while simultaneously leading the Exodus Armada and acting as the de facto regent of the Veil.
