Born as '''Coreth''' on the world of [[Lok III]] in the [[Scarus Sector]], he piloted a shuttle ferrying industrial goods to and from orbital docks and the [[manufactorum]]-covered surface of the planet - he recalls it being incredibly dull.{{Fn|2}} Eventually Coreth was captured by [[Talos Valcoran]] during a raid of his world and forced to become his 7th personal [[slave]]-servant, now named Septimus. {{Fn|2}} Despite his low status, he eventually was able to develop developed something close to a friendship with his master Talos, whom he served for most of his adult life.{{Fn|1}} Despite this bond, Septimus was nearly killed after the Night Lord learned that his ongoing affair with the [[Navigator]] [[Octavia]] lead to her becoming pregnant.{{Fn|1a}} Shortly before his death on [[Tsagualsa]], Talos released Septimus from his servitude and he escaped along with Octavia and his unborn child.{{Fn|1b}}
