They are mounted primarily on [[Sentinel]]s and [[Chimera]]s, part of the [[Imperial Guard Structure]], and due to the high manoeuvrability of the walker they can be quickly deployed where they will do the most damage. They are especially good at hunting low-armoured transports. Also, they are effective against horde armies with poor armour, such as [[Orks]] and other Imperial Guard forces.
While standard Lascannon is semi-automatic weapon, which means that one pressing of trigger release one laser beam, Multi-laser is full-auto - it fires multiple laser beams as long as trigger is pressed. Multi-laser is bigger variant of infantry Hellgun.
The Eldar have a similar weapon called a [[Scatter Laser]] which has a better rate of fire and a similarly more Eldar-like design.
