Speers

Speers was a Guardsman of the Volpone 50th 'Bluebloods'.[1]
In the Nacedon campaign (part of the Sabbat Worlds Crusade), Speers was one of a number of Volpone Guardsmen wounded in action who were left abandoned in a field hospital when the Crusade's forces were routed at Lohenich and forced to retreat. They were saved when a unit of the Tanith First and Only came across the hospital during the retreat and their Chief Medical Officer, Tolin Dorden, refused to leave them to die at the hands of the enemy. Thanks to the intervention of the Tanith, most of the wounded Volpone survived long enough for Imperial reinforcements to arrive and push the enemy back.[1]
