Styrus is an Imperial Hive World of Ultramar.[1]
History
During the Horus Heresy, it was among a dozen worlds on Ultramar's eastern edge to be attacked by the Traitor forces of Princep Maxiums Horgoth Nyr. Each world was chosen to merely act as a breadcrumb to lead the commanding Legio Praesagius Princeps, Dae Vergos, into an ambush on Drooth II. Before they left Styrus, the Traitor Titans of Legio Audax had gutted the world's Night Hives.[2]
Sometime later, Styrus was given its independence from Ultramar. Millennia later though, in M42, the Hive World was struck by a Chaos Cult rebellion which caused millions of deaths. It was finally ended during the Ultramarian Reclamation, when an Ultramarines Reclamation Force began a cleansing campaign that destroyed the Cult. However, the Ultramarines had been charged by the Primarch Guilliman to increase the size of Ultramar and they then demanded that Styrus join it once more. The Hive World's Planetary Governor and her Adeptus Ministorum advisors resisted this and war threatened to erupt on Styrus again. But this was avoided when one of the Governor's staff members, Lucia Vestha, intervened between both parties.[1]
Thanks to Vestha's talents of diplomacy and negotiation, the Planetary Governor and Ultramarines reached an accord. With that, Styrus became part of Ultramar without any further bloodshed. The Ultramarines were so impressed by Vestha that they sent her to Laphis, so she could be trained to become one of the Ultramarian Reclamation's plenipotentiaries.[1]
