Su'than was a Captain in the Salamanders Chapter.^[1]

History

He took part in the Third War of Armageddon, where Su'than's forces were charged with protecting the city of Palonious. It was already defended by elements of the 141st Armageddon Steel Legion, due to the city containing the vital Averneas forge complex, but the Regiment had been ravaged, by constant attacks from the Blackskulls Ork Tribe. This led Su'than to be sent to Palonious, to ensure that Averneas did not fall to the Xenos, after it became doubtful the outnumbered 141st could continue to protect the city.^[1]

The Salamanders had just arrived though, when the Blackskulls launched a full-scaled assault. As the attack wore on, a breach appeared in the city's defenses, which allowed the Tribe's Boss, Magzthrull, to lead a sizeable force to pass through it. However, Su'than led a counter-attack against Magzthrull's forces and personally killed the Ork Boss in personal combat. He then took Magzthrull's skull as a trophy, which still adorns the Captain power armour to this day. The loss of their leader was not enough to demoralize the Blackskulls though and the Xenos continued to pour into Palonious through the breach. This in turn pushed the Steel Legion and Salamanders further back into the city. Now seeing that the situation had become critical, Su'than took direct command of the 141st. This however, required him to unfortunately kill one of the Regiment's Commissars, who vehemently disagreed with the Captain doing so.^[1]

Afterwards though, the Captain was able to enact his plan of ambushing the invading Blackskulls. This required the 141st near the breach to withdraw into the city and as they did so, the Ork Tribe quickly pursued them. The 141st then led the Xenos to a large force of the Regiment's Battle Tanks, that Su'than and Major Istevus had gathered together. The retreating 141st reformed before the tanks and together their combined firepower destroyed the pursuing Blackskulls. Once these Orks were dealt with, the 141st were able to seal the breach and prevent any more of the Xenos from entering Palonious. This allowed the Regiment and Salamanders to then hunt down and kill any Blackskulls that remained within the city. While the battle continued for sometime afterwards, the Ork Tribe were held back by the Imperials and the Blackskulls eventually retreated from Palonious. With the Tribe's immediate threat city now over, the Imperium was able to send fresh reinforcements to protect it.^[1]

Su'than, the 141st Armageddon Steel Legion and Magzthrull were created by the Games Workshop employee Zak Belado.^[1]
