Sword of Atreus
Sword of Atreus is a wrecked Ultramarines battle barge that dates back to the Great Crusade.[1a]
The Sword of Atreus was wrecked in a clash between the Ultramarines and heretics around 4,000 years prior to M42. The ship was subsequently interred upon Demerium. Although the body of the ship was ruined, its engines and internal systems were still functional.[2a]
The Sword of Atreus resting place was only recently discovered. According to Artisan Balthazar's diagnostics of the vessel in M42, its engine's capabilities aren't sufficient to escape the planet's gravity.[1b]
During Hive Fleet Leviathan's invasion of the Recidious System, Thousand Sons forces would appear and erect a Silver Tower upon the world in pursuit of harnessing the power of Project Aurora. Out of desperation to stop the Thousand Sons' plans, Sergeant Gadriel of the Ultramarines would suggest an unorthodox strategy of using the Sword of Atreus as a ram to destroy the Silver Tower.[1a]
